Vertigo

So, I'm dealing with some more health problems right now and it's slowing down my work schedule. I recently developed benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Essentially it means when I turn my head in certain directions I get very very dizzy. The rooms goes spinning and it takes me a few minutes to regain my balance. It's very difficult to draw and paint since I often am bent over a drawing table looking down.

I'm investigating some of the ways to get rid of this via simple exercises to help restore the balance of things in the inner ear but I also need to figure out a new position for my drawing table so I can continue to work without making myself sick.

If I owe you a book or some artwork, please be patient a little longer. I'm doing as much as I can right now and will continue to get things into the mail as fast as I can.

I've got a lot of cool projects coming up! It's just a matter of time before I can beat this vertigo and get back on track.

Thanks,
Kyle

P.S. 90% of the books have been mailed out. Some international orders are just now getting out. The mail system here is super slow so please be patient for a few more weeks. Everyone should get their books soon.

The shipping begins!

So, I'm back from Spectrum Fantastic Art Live and working hard on getting sketches and drawings done to fulfill everyone's Kickstarter orders. I unfortunately hurt my back a few days ago and have had to slow down my pace and take more breaks from the table than I'd like. I'm about two weeks behind on mailing books out but as of today I'll be off to the post office to get as many books out the door as I can carry.

If anyone is curious about how the Spectrum show went, please click here to see my regular blog. On top of the Spectrum show I also did a beer label for New Holland Brewing and the beer was just released last week.

Since these both came in the same week I felt like taking a picture of them together. For those who don't know me personally, the lady on the beer is my lovely wife and co-writer/editor of A Book of Dwarves.

And, of course, just the book by itself on display in my dinning room.

For anyone curious purchasing the book or some of the original art from it, please check out my Etsy store here.

Cheers,
Kyle

Coming soon!

It's official!  All of the art is done and the files have been sent to the printer. A Book of Dwarves will be available at Spectrum Live in Kansas City, Mo. on May 18th-20th and then online through our Etsy store shortly after the convention.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the book via Kickstarter, re-blogging, re-posting, and re-tweeting. The Kickstarter campaign was such a success and gained so much interest that I was able to create more content and opt for a more polished presentation in the printing of the book.

The original version of A Book of Dwarves was supposed to be thirty two pages. By the end of last week, after all of the art, writing and layouts were finished, we're up to 54 pages!

After Spectrum Live I'll post updates about how the book is doing, behind the scenes photos, sketches, and all of the convention news. Until then, I'll be working to get ready for the book release.

Cheers,
Kyle
